*Download and unzip to the desktop the PS3 EyeToy camera driver that is appropriate for the model that was listed (see Resources). Right-click on the PS3 EyeToy camera that is listed in the Device Manager. Select ’Update Driver’ from the pop-up menu. Wait while the hardware update wizard runs.
*Previously, the Windows driver for the PS3 Eye could be either blazingly fast, or blazingly not actually working at all. If you followed our instructions for the PS3 Eye on Windows only to find the camera randomly freezing, we’ve got good news – it’s fixed. (Hey, it was a from-scratch driver written by one person.).
*After installing, I plugged in the PS Eye and appeared as “USB Camera-B3.04.06.1”, which was the driver I had before. I uninstalled the older driver through device manager, uninstalled the newer one, restarted windows, reinstalled the newer one, and the camera still appears as Unspecified Device “USB Camera-B3.04.06.1”.
Following up on an old post about Sony PS2 EyeToy drivers for Windows, which got that old Playstation 2 EyeToy web camera working on Windows 32bit environments, I’ve finally managed to get drivers that work for 64 bit.
I have been working on a driver for the PlayStation Eye Camera and the first beta release is now available on github! Happily there were lots of open source projects out there that were of great help, including the PS3 Eye Linux driver. For those who are unfamiliar with this camera, it’s an extremely good value (only $7 on Amazon right now) and it has a decent sensor which is capable of 60 FPS. The EyeToy is a color webcam for use with the PlayStation 2.Supported games use computer vision and gesture recognition to process images taken by the EyeToy. This allows players to interact with the games using motion, color detection, and also sound, through its built-in microphone. It was released in October 2003. The camera is manufactured by Logitech (known as ’Logicool’ in Japan.Ps3 Eyetoy Driver Windows 10

To install, go to Device Manager, right click the EyeToy, and then Update Driver, then Browse, Let me pick, Have Disk, and then HCLASSIC.inf at the root of the supplied folder you put on your desktop. It will complain about the drivers not being signed, but it is golden! I included a small camera test program, which is labeled EyeToy.exe”Ps3 Eyetoy Camera Driver Windows 10Sony Eyetoy Driver Windows 10
Works for me on Windows 7. Haven’t tried it on Windows 8 yet but in theory it should work.
